Position Summary: Primarily responsible for planning, training and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, techniques, & methodologies for the most efficient utilization of labor, material, & capital of the two GNS sites.

Position Responsibilities:

o Directly support assembly & manufacturing operations to increase safety & efficiency & target higher profitability through the development & application of a Lean Roadmap for each business unit including 36- month forward vision.

o Ensure through harmonized ZFPS training methods that consistent standards for assembly & manufacturing processes are practiced across all business units & across both GNS sites.

o Coordinate, schedule, & execute Lean methodologies & Kaizen activities within the GNS sites to identify & reduce waste, utilizing such methods as 5S, TPM, Line Balancing, Standardized Work, SMED, & other lean manufacturing principles as they relate to the 6 ZFPS principles; report results to the GNS leadership team.

o Train all production related employees & management in the basic principles of ZF Production Systems; ensure that production related management participate in at least one ZFPS workshop annually.

o Develop Value Streams & perform Lean assessments for each GNS business unit including domain functions; document & analyze current processes including deduction of optimization approaches.

o Create ZFPS related goals to assist in GNS achieving business targets; analyze gaps & formulate opportunities to improve processes.

o Foster a culture of moving forward in a change environment & continuously assuring buy-in & ownership at all levels.

o Represents GNS sites on the region NA PSC (Production System Council).

o Supervise ZFPS coordinator at GNS2, as well as ZFPS Project Coaches.

o Develop a pool of ZFPS subject matter experts through training & application of ZFPS workshops.

o Understand and comply with TS 16949, ISO 14000 & OSHA requirements.

o Performs related tasks as needed

Essential Skills and Experience:

o Bachelor's Degree

o 6-8+ years (advanced) of experience

o Level 3+ certified trainer in at least 3 of the 8 min ZF PS basic methods, or equivalent certifications.

o English language competency.

o Training includes Mistake Proofing and Problem Solving Techniques, Kaizen methods, and tools related to 6 principles of ZFPS (e.g. TPM, 5S, SMED).

Preferred Skills and experience:

o Preferred candidate shall have 15 or more years of experience in manufacturing environment.

o Extensive knowledge & experience with Production Systems & lean manufacturing principles.

o Extensive experience in facilitating kaizen activities.

o Highly approachable with good interpersonal & leadership skills that encourage & motivate others.

o 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing environment.

o Experience working in an ISO TS16949 environment. ISO 14001 awareness training.
