The Evaluation Manager is a member of WGU's faculty who manages the delivery of Evaluations and teams of Evaluators. Evaluators are professionals who provide quality feedback on performance task submissions. They hold academic credentials and professional experience in their respective fields that are pertinent to the courses they evaluate, and they are critical to each student's journey toward graduation. Although their quality feedback is an essential part of the WGU student learning experience, these faculty members are much less visible to students and their interactions are restricted to the anonymous performance assessment environment. Required Skills

+ Coordinate efforts to complete all scoring in assigned area(s) accurately and consistent with our service level agreement.

+ Guide and monitor evaluator feedback to ensure that all scoring events include helpful feedback for students.

+ Implement, monitor, and document regular training and activities as outlined by the Evaluation Department.

+ Collaborate with the Evaluation Staffing Team to implement vetting process for hiring new positions.

+ Formally review evaluator performance against established metrics for accuracy, consistency, proficiency, and inter-rater reliability.

+ Formally supervise all direct reports.

+ Monitor hours worked by evaluators and Course Leads. Ensure that team members are working the optimum hours allowed in support of both student success and work/family balance.

+ Approve overtime for evaluators when the submission level in Taskstream is elevated.

+ Assist with scoring efforts when needed.

+ Identify and implement best practices.

+ Ensure fair and accurate scoring through inter-rater agreement exercises, team calibration and close collaboration with other university departments.

+ Participate in college specific and department projects designed to improve student success.

+ Satisfactorily perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

+ Doctorate degree in field related to education preferred; master's degree in field related to education required.

+ Three years' experience in a K-12 setting

+ Experience leading others required: small-group management along with classroom management expertise

+ Pearson scoring experience and/or solid understanding of the edTPA required

+ Strategy and Process Improvement experience required

+ Must be professional, patient, and willing to support department and college goals and objectives.

+ Full time exempt position. Management and supervision on weekends and holidays as needed is the norm
